The current in Hungary has a voltage of 230 V and a frequency of 50 Hz. The name of the connector is “Europlug”.

As this is a common type in Central Europe, those who visit Budapest and have devices with different sockets that they bring with them during their trip should choose accommodation carefully.

Each of the 5-star hotels is equipped with a suitable converter, but if you are booking a 4 or 3 star or perhaps Airbnb accommodation, be sure to check with the hotel to provide the appropriate converters.

You can find the adapter in the larger technical stores, so if your host may not be able to provide a connector, you can easily find the right one for your device with a little follow-up.
